Hisato Kawashima(#川嶋久人), a graduate of our sister school in Tokyo, Nippon Photography Institute, has won the “Natori Yonosuke Photography Award (#名取洋之助写真賞)”, a prestigious award for Japanese photographers!

This award, created by the Japan Professional Photographers Society, is given to photographers working mainly in documentaries to encourage the discovery and work of emerging photographers. Mr. Kawashima has been covering the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China for many years and has exhibited his work there. He has been covering the region during his long holidays since he was a student there. The results of his years of research have now taken shape.
