We would like to say thank you to all the participants that have joined the LELM@2022 “Art Workshop” on the 19th of February! Children from the age of 6-12 years and also from different backgrounds and races have attended the event. This event gives the children a chance to learn from a Japanese professional artist in making creative and simple art using acrylic paint.

The children that participated used the paints to paint their favorite design and colored it based on their creative styles using acrylics. After they finished painting, their drawings were cut and pasted on big paper to make a collage of insects and leaves.

Parents get the chance to form a bond with their children as well as help them in their artworks. It was a lovely sight to see as everyone is bonding and having a great time.

Other than that, parents and children got a chance to learn some simple Japanese phrases like “なかよし” which means “Good friends” as we are trying to make friends between Japan and Malaysia.

At the end of the day, participants got some souvenirs from our sponsors Yakult and also Kewpie! We hope they enjoy the gifts.

Due to SOP reasons, there will be limited seats available for this free event. We will be organizing many future events as well so even if you can’t make it to the current event, there is always next time.

We hope to see everyone again soon.

◆What is LELM@2022?◆
This year is the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy. From now on, we want to learn a lot from Malaysia, and we want to work in the spirit of “Look East Look Malaysia”. LELM also stands for “Love East Love Malaysia”. “@” is a symbol of “Exchanges through the uses of various internet tools and with the interactivity of the internet age”. With this belief in mind, NDS collaborates with many different companies and organizations to provide fun classes for Malaysian children throughout the year.
